Junior Team Tennis (JTT)

What is JTT?

JTT is the largest youth tennis league in the country, helping girls and boys ages 5 to 18 get in the game, get on the court, and have a good time. Teams are coed and made up of at least six players, three boys and three girls, based on similar ages and skill levels. The emphasis is on skill development, fun, teamwork and friendly competition, all with the opportunity of advancing to the state championships. Tennis is a sport you can play for life and JTT lays the foundation for a lasting relationship.

Who Can Play?

JTT is for girls and boys ages 5 to 18 of all abilities and experience. Whether your child has been playing for years, or has never held a racquet, there's a spot on the team for them. Teams are formed in age groups: 18 & under, 14 & under, 12 & under, 10 & under, and 8 & under. 10 and under has a regular court (78’) division and a 60’ court divisions. 8 and Under plays on the 36’ court.

How Does It Work?

Seasons are typically 6 to 8 weeks long with weekly practice at PRC group lessons. Players have the opportunity to participate in both singles and doubles play throughout the season. Winners of the spring and fall divisions (except 8 and Under) qualify for the USTA Georgia Junior Team Tennis State Championships.

How Competitive Is It?

Whether your child wants to compete on a national level or simply wants to learn a new sport and make friends, JTT can take them there. The focus is on enjoying the exhilaration of playing and the development of skills that make playing fun. It's up to each player to decide how far they want to go.

3 Leagues to Choose From

Junior Satellite Tournament

PRC hosts two junior satellite tournaments each year. These are sanctioned by the United States Tennis Association and are Georgia Level 5 events. Satellites are for players who have no previous year-end state ranking.

There are two separate categories for each tournament: Quick Start divisions and Regular Court divisions. Quick Start divisions include the following: 8 and under, who play on the 36x18' court with foam or larger low compression balls (red ball). 10 and under, who play on the 60x21' court with low compression balls (orange ball). All Quick Start divisions will have either compass draws or round robins to guarantee a minimum of 3 matches. 8 and under will play a team format.

Regular Court divisions include the following: Boys and Girls Singles for 12 and under, 14 and under, 16 and under, and 18 and under. All Regular Court divisions will have a full feed-in consolation to guarantee a minimum of two matches. All participants in the Satellite tournaments must have a current USTA membership.
